A few of us at Keystone School kept talking about how cool it would be to actually build something that moves, thinks, and competes. So we did the only reasonable thing: we started an FRC team with zero mentors, zero experience, and a corner of a middle-school classroom as our “shop.”
We’re Camber Robotics, Team 9658, and we’re based on the south side of San Antonio. We don’t have a big budget or a fancy facility. What we do have is a group of students who are genuinely curious about engineering, programming, design, and honestly a dozen other things that have nothing to do with robots at all — because that’s kind of the point. We want Camber to be a place where you don’t have to already be “the STEM kid” to find your spot on the team.
We have no idea yet what our first robot is going to look like. We just know we’re building it together, and we’re going to figure out the rest as we go.
