Not every recap gets to be a highlight reel, and this one isn’t. We’re going to be honest about it anyway.
We ran into trouble right out of the gate at inspection — our bumpers weren’t up to spec, and it cost us valuable time we didn’t get back. We finished the event ranked 23rd with a 5-7 record, which is not the result we were hoping for after how strong last season felt.
It stung. But it also taught us something we needed to learn eventually: the rules matter just as much before a match as anything that happens during one, and “we’ll figure it out at the event” is not a bumper strategy. We’d rather learn that lesson now than repeat it.
We’re not thrilled with this result, but we’re not discouraged either. We’ve got another event coming up, and we know exactly what we’re fixing before we get there.
