Spring Break at Taft with the Roboraiders

Instead of a normal spring break, we spent ours at Taft High School building and tuning our robot alongside Team 3561, the Roboraiders.

With our Everybot chassis coming together, spring break gave us a rare stretch of uninterrupted time to knock out everything that’s hard to finish in a normal two-hour meeting: wiring runs, mechanism tuning, and driver practice on an actual field instead of just the shop floor. Having the Roboraiders there to build and practice alongside made it even better — trading advice, borrowing tools, and getting a second set of eyes on problems we’d been stuck on for days.

This is the kind of week that turns a robot from “technically drives” into something we’re actually ready to compete with. San Antonio is coming up fast, and we used every hour we had.
