This week, we ran our first robotics summer camp for middle schoolers, designed to get them ready for competitive robotics before they even step onto a team.
Planning and running a camp is a completely different challenge than building a robot — it’s all about how to explain something you understand intuitively to someone seeing it for the very first time, in a way that actually clicks. We had to rethink how we talk about things we’ve taken for granted for two years now.
Watching a room full of middle schoolers get genuinely excited about a wiring diagram was one of the best feelings we’ve had all year. We’re already planning on making this an annual thing.
