We remember exactly what it felt like to be a brand-new team with no idea what we were doing. So this year, we decided to help make sure the next generation at our school doesn’t have to start from quite as far behind as we did.
We helped start FTC Team #31617, a FIRST Tech Challenge team at our middle school, and we’re mentoring them directly — build advice, programming help, and the kind of general “how does any of this work” team management guidance we wish someone had handed us in 2023.
Getting to be on the other side of that relationship, as the team with answers instead of just questions, has honestly been one of our favorite parts of this year. We can’t wait to watch them grow into their own team, the same way people believed in us early on.
