Today we packed up our robot and headed to Youth Code Jam’s Stack & Jam event to run demonstrations for K-12 students.
There’s a specific kind of joy in watching a kid’s face the first time they see a robot bigger than they are drive across a room on command. We ran our robot through its paces, answered what felt like a thousand questions (mostly “how fast does it go” and “can it break”), and let as many kids as possible get up close with it.
Youth Code Jam does great work getting computer science in front of students who might not otherwise get exposure to it, and we’re glad we could be part of that for a day. Moments like this are exactly why outreach is baked into our mission, not an afterthought to it.
