Robots are not cheap. Somewhere around our third trip to the hardware store, that became very obvious.
Over the course of our rookie season, we reached out to every FRC-related organization and local business that would take a meeting with a group of high schoolers who really, really wanted to build robots. By the end of the year, we’d raised nearly $10,000 — and Keystone matched every dollar of it.
That kind of support is the reason we were able to compete at all this year, and it’s the reason we can already start planning for next season instead of wondering if there will be one. We don’t take it for granted.
