We did it. We took a robot we built from absolutely nothing — no mentors, no shop, no idea what we were doing half the time — and competed at our very first FRC event in San Antonio.

We’re not going to pretend it was a flawless weekend. We were still figuring out basic pit strategy while other teams ran like well-oiled machines. But every single match, our robot did something we built it to do, and every single match, we learned something we didn’t know the day before.

What stuck with us most wasn’t the scoreboard. It was the other teams who stopped by our pit to help us troubleshoot, hand us spare parts, or just tell us we were doing great for a rookie squad. That’s the FRC community everyone talks about, and now we understand why.

We’re already talking about next year.
