We are still a little bit in shock writing this.
We went into the Houston District Event hoping to show real improvement from our rookie year. What we walked away with was being selected as the 4th Alliance Captain, meaning we got to pick our own alliance for elimination matches for the first time ever — and a Judges’ Award, recognizing the team behind the robot as much as the robot itself.
Neither of those happens without everyone doing their job well: the drive team staying calm under pressure, the pit crew fixing things faster than we thought possible, and the scouting team giving us the information we needed to make good calls. This was very much a whole-team result.
We’re carrying this momentum straight into the rest of our season.
